Thanks to the evolution of the internet, many people now have the choice to find work from home. Just around ten years ago, getting a job entails travelling to an office, suffering the exasperating rush hour and spending a large chunk of one’s salary for gas and transportation. Now that the internet has opened a sundry of opportunities as it enables worldwide connectivity, one does not have to experience the hassles of getting a job or even being in one. With a working computer or laptop, one could earn money while in the comforts of his home.

Various legitimate online jobs are now out and ripe for the taking. Home buddies like housewives or persons with disabilities and even students can simply open their computers, connect to the internet and profit from their different skills without having to leave their houses. With these legitimate online jobs, they could save on transportation money and even have control over their time, thus enabling them to accomplish other priorities and have enough time for their personal affairs.

They don’t even have to deal with messy office politics as working from home does not require having to deal with other people vying for job positions directly. There are, however, online job communities where people could socialize, discuss matters and even ask for help over forums, thereby making online jobs more appealing to most.

One of the legitimate online jobs one could apply for is being a virtual assistant. A virtual assistant, or VA for short, offers administrative, creative or technical services to a client. Professional administrative tasks are responsibilities similarly held by executive assistants or secretaries. These usually involve scheduling appointments or events, managing the client’s email and even researching about a host of things that would keep the client up-to-date regarding his or her profession.

Creative tasks, on the other hand, could mean accomplishing chores of a social nature, such as sending out greeting cards during holidays or writing thank you notes—activities that most professionals rarely have time for. Meanwhile, technical tasks usually involve database entries and data presentations. To be a virtual assistant, one must be efficient in management or organization. He should also be capable of accomplishing the given tasks during a set deadline.

Another one among the many legitimate online jobs is being a translator. Of course, the more languages one could speak fluently, the better. Being an online translator usually requires working with written materials, such as converting them from one language to another, not necessarily from English to another language or vice-versa. Online translators also have the task of compiling glossaries and terminologies that could be applied as a database for translating.

Other translators can also deal with spoken communication where they act as interpreters or even teachers that instruct via a webcam. Other than knowing how to speak other languages formally, online translators must also be knowledgeable about the nuances of the language, its slang words and the cultural context accompanying certain phrases in order to translate speech or written materials effectively.

Being a medical transcriptionist is also among the legitimate online jobs around. A medical transcriptionist converts audio files that record dictations by doctors into written documents. This sounds like a simple enough task, but one must take into consideration that some doctors have accents that are rather difficult to understand, or that there’s the presence of background noise during the recording, not to mention that there’s also the possibility that some audio files have bad quality. A familiarity with medical terms or previous experience in the medical field would certainly be a plus for all those wishing to apply as online medical transcriptionists. A knack for listening and a good memory, as well as fast typing capabilities, are the skills needed for one to be an effective medical transcriptionist.

Writers and editors are also in-demand among legitimate online jobs. Many websites always have a job opportunity for content writers and editors. The job is pretty much self-explanatory: Writers and editors would be tasked to deal with many kinds of written material that revolve around a sundry of topics. These topics could range from articles about health, beauty, business, science, culture, history, food, entertainment—pretty much everything under the sun. A working knowledge of many things and a good command of language are the skills primarily needed for this job. The ability to package these articles creatively is also necessary because most of these would be uploaded to websites, or even as e-books.

Web developers and/or designers are also among the list of in-demand legitimate online jobs. Since the internet age has reached a significant boom over the years, many people, especially businesses, rely on websites to reach their target market. While there are many websites that offer easy creation and customization for anyone who wants to have their own site, not all features that the client wants are available. Web developers and/or designers could provide for these services, which, in turn, offer their client’s website a unique and more trustworthy feel. Naturally, one must have a good knowledge of the tools needed for web creation or design, such as working with the HTML or CSS code, to name a few.

Being a teacher is also one of the many legitimate online jobs. Education nowadays doesn’t have to come in a physical classroom with a physical teacher giving lessons. With a working internet connection and a webcam, teachers could now offer lecture sessions online, whether this is done in a group or one-on-one. This setup gives both parties a certain amount of freedom and comfort not experienced in traditional classrooms. The limited number of students, too, allows the teacher to better focus on the progress of each learner. Online teaching jobs usually require a degree. Other than that, one must have patience and creativity in order to make virtual learning fun for the students.

These are just a few of the many legitimate online jobs circulating the internet, which young and old people alike could benefit from. Gone are the days when working means being away from home, thanks to the internet.

The map, by International SOS and Control Risks, shows that much of Africa also poses a very high risk for travellers’ health, along with Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Guyana.
The countries in the ‘low’ category for health risks include Canada, the U.S, most of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Brazil, China and Russia are all deemed to have ‘rapidly developing variable risk’ when it comes to health.

Most of Europe is ranked as ‘very low’ or ‘low’, along with Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
A global survey by Ipsos Mori Business Resilience Trends Watch 2018 found that two-thirds (63 per cent) of people think travel risks have increased in the past year – with security threats and natural disasters cited as main reasons for changed travel plans.
It also found that 58 per cent of business travellers changed their travel plans due to security threats.
Almost half (43 per cent) had to modify their itineraries because of natural disasters, including extreme weather events.

You leave your elbows off the dinner table and understand the importance of a nice, firm handshake. Congrats! You’re a generally well-mannered person. But do you know which hand you should wave with? Or which seat to offer your boss in the back of a town car? There are tons of little-known etiquette rules that most people break every single day.
10 Etiquette Rules You're Probably Breaking

1. You’re coughing into your right hand.

Covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough is good manners. Using your right hand to do it? That’s bad. “Your right hand is your social hand,” Weaver says. “It should be available for shaking hands, waving, and blowing kisses.” Your left hand, meanwhile, is what she dubs your “personal” hand: “That’s the hand you use for coughing, scratching, sneezing, whatever it is we don’t want to talk about.” The reason for the distinction, she explains, is simple politeness—you don’t want to sneeze into one hand, then absentmindedly use that palm to shake hands with a new colleague.

2. You’re wearing your handbag on your right shoulder—and slinging it over the back of your chair.

To keep your “social” hand free for greetings, it’s best to keep your handbag — or cocktail! — in your left hand. That way, says Weaver, “you don’t have to take the time to switch it over to the other arm when you’re reaching out to shake someone’s hand.” (Of note: Queen Elizabeth always keeps her tote on her left.) While you’re at it, never place your handbag on the back of a chair when you’re seated at a table. The proper spot, says Weaver, is on the floor to your right.

3. Also, you’re calling it a “purse.”

That term is reserved for any clutch, tote, satchel, etc. that costs less than $100. “A purse is something that is relatively inexpensive,” notes Weaver. “A handbag is more expensive. You should never go into Neiman Marcus and ask for their purse department. They don’t have one.”

4. You’re sitting down wrong.

To avoid collisions at the dinner table, always approach your chair from the left-hand side and exit on the right, says Weaver. And if you need to use the restroom during the meal, never announce your intentions to the group. Suggests the pro, “Just say, ‘Excuse me,’ and step away.”

5. You’re passing the salt without the pepper.

“They’re like a little couple,” Weaver says of the salt-and-pepper shakers. “You never want to separate them.” The theory: even if one diner asks only for the salt, the person next to them may want both, so they should be kept together. And remember—always pass to the right!

6. You’re applauding incorrectly.

Study celebrities at any major awards show: not everyone is properly recognizing the winners. The correct way to applaud is just slightly to your left, about chest height. Says Weaver, “You never want to clap in front of your own face and you sure don’t want to clap in front of someone else’s.”

7. You’re claiming the best seat in the car …

The power seat in any limo is to the back and the right. That’s the one you should leave for your boss “or whomever is the person of prominence or honor,” says Weaver. The next person in line gets to claim the seat to the left, while the junior person usually gets the middle. (Note: the same does not apply to riding with your siblings.)

8. … And you’re climbing in wrong.

When entering a vehicle, first sit down, then swing your legs in. “It’s the appropriate way to do it,” says Weaver. “And it’s classy.” As an added bonus, it prevents any skirt-wearing ladies from accidentally flashing their companions.

9. You’re pointing at your friend.

“We can point at something,” says Weaver, “but we never point at someone. If you must point out across the room to your pal, you may gesture, but be sure to use an open hand."

10. You’re using a revolving door improperly.

Holding the door? You’ve got that one down. But when faced with a revolving door, it's polite to enter first. Explains the pro, “You never want your client or date to have to push while you’re behind them just prancing in. It’s about making the other person feel special and making it easier on them.” What it isn’t about, she says, is showing off. “It should never be, ‘How about me, I know all of these things,’” notes Weaver. Because being a braggart—well, that’s just rude.

The Window You Choose Will Reveal Your Personality
1. The Large Window
You are sociable and popular; you love to have people around you. But unlike people who think you are extrovert, you have a bit of loneliness within you. When you are alone, you are left with your thoughts, something which you’re not that happy with. You’d rather be around your friends! Luckily you have warm and deep relationships around you, but you still feel there is one kind of relationship is missing.
2. The Closed Blinded Window
You have a secret and mysterious personality. While you have a lot of friends and love that surrounds you, being alone doesn’t bother you that much. You may have actually felt loneliness when you were a child, but now you find solace in the silence. You’ve realized that it has made you stronger and smarter when you’re left with your thoughts. You have a lot of relationships, both friendly casual acquaintances and deep long-lasting relationships with friends.
3. The Open Blind Window
You always have a lot of friends that surround you. They admire you for your open mind. You like to spend most of your time with people, no matter if it’s your best and closest friends, or casual acquaintances. Most likely, you always have a chat open on your computer, or receive a lot of texts within a day. You have a personality that is outgoing, fun, and light. You have a strong head on your shoulders, but would rather be doing something than sitting around.
4. The Small Window
You have a shy and passive personality. People around you are always trying to be friends with you, but sometimes you don’t seem to notice those around you. Once you open your eyes, you will realize that the world outside you is full of love! So many people have you on their mind and really do want to be your friend and confidant. You are so beautiful, smart, and funny – it’s time to share this with the world!
5. The Window Near the Floor

You have a special spark, a unique charm that people just can’t quite put their finger on. You are rich in love, light and have a fantastic personality. You are constantly the center of it all, whether you like it or not. People seem to all flock around you, and many friends know each other because of their relationship with you.

There is much said and written about the characteristics of star signs, such as “Virgos never forgive, Aries people are determined” etc.
Which Zodiac Signs Are Most Dangerous?

But this time, we are going to tell you about real statistics! The FBI shared the birth dates of serial killers and people who show psychopathic tendencies. And as you can imagine, statistics can show which star sign is more inclined to which types of crimes.
Let’s see which zodiac signs are more psycho-like!
12. Everybody talks bad about the people who are born under Gemini sign, but it turns out that it is the least dangerous star sign!
As they don’t take anybody seriously enough to kill or hurt them, Gemini people get blood on their hands least.
Or instead of killing them, they probably prefer boring people to death by talking and talking to them. It does make sense!
11. Aquarius is the second most innocent zodiac sign!
They care a lot about justice and have strong egos that can’t be smashed easily. We don’t know exactly why but these people are the second most innocent star sign after Gemini.
Or maybe, they don’t get caught because they are smart enough to not leave any evidence behind; and that’s how they don’t get caught and become a part of these statistics.
10. Don’t be fooled by all that roaring, they are just cats! Leos also stay away from the trouble.
It was also mentioned that when a Leo commits murder, it is mostly to attract attention.
WOW!
9. We know Libras as just, kind, and patient, but these people commit more murders than Leo and Aquarius, which is weird.
Well, even patience has its limits. It is likely that Libras resort to violence when others take advantage of their good intentions.
8. An averagely psycho and very neat killer: Virgo!
We should point out that Virgos are more prone to theft and fraud rather than murders, though.
7. You think Pisces people are cute? You are wrong.
John Wayne Gacy (aka Killer Clown), Richard Ramirez, and Aileen Wuornos (with her very sad story) are some of the most famous Pisces serial killers. People born under Pisces sign usually commit more extraordinary murders thanks to their tendency toward addiction.
6. While the number of serial killers born under Capricorn sign is pretty average, the serial killer that murdered most people is a Capricorn!
Although they are known for their respect for laws and rules, it seems that Capricorns shouldn’t be pissed off.
People born under Capricorn don’t kill often, but when they do, they go all the way!
5. Aries people, who are known to be crazy, do not surprise.
Their anger is abrupt but it doesn’t last long. That’s why we see Aries at the 5th place in this list. If you piss off an Aries, make sure you stay away from them for a while. Then they will forget why they got mad, to begin with.
4. The wrath of Taurus is intense! But fraud is more common among these people than murder.
They like luxury, what can they do?
3. And now the top three! Sagittarius takes the third place in our list!
And these people don’t go for small-scale individual crimes. For example, Ted Bundy, Pablo Escobar, and Stalin were all Sagittarius.
They go for bigger crimes and kill in masses and announce themselves “leaders.”
2. Official psychos! Scorpio takes the second place! Is there anybody who surprised?
Because most serial killers were born in November, the majority of them are Scorpios and the rest are Sagittarius. They are known to be sadistic murderers.
1. The first in our list, the head of maniacs is surprisingly Cancer!
They usually kill because of jealousy. Their mood swings seem to cause trouble!

Set a curious kid loose on the internet, and you have a match made in learning heaven. Unfortunately, for every geometry lesson on Khan Academy there are step-by-step instructions for something not just age-inappropriate—but potentially illegal or dangerous.
While browser settings and parental controls can help keep your kids on appropriate sites, it’s nearly impossible to shield them from every risky thing.
But most tweens and teens who look up how to make fireworks, for example, are not reckless enough to try it. Try not to freak out if you find them searching for something iffy. That way, you keep the lines of communication open, and you can better help kids to think critically, ethically and safely about what they find online.
Here are a few examples of the not-so-nice info kids can easily find, plus some conversation starters. (If you’re really concerned that your kid’s explorations are leading them into dangerous territory, you may need to take more serious action.)

1. How To Drive

You can learn anything on YouTube, even how to operate a vehicle.
An 8-year-old boy apparently learned how to drive on YouTube. He then drove his little sister to the McDonald’s drive-thru. It’s not wrong to watch videos on how to drive—but they should never be attempted without the proper permit and an adult.

2. How To Do Dangerous Experiments

There are plenty of legit science games, sites, and apps that explain how to conduct experiments responsibly using the scientific method.
But just as popular are videos that show step-by-step instructions for risky procedures such as “Fire in a Bottle,” “Mentos and Coke,” or an erupting volcano without proper safety procedures. Adding insult to injury—literally—are the so-called “fail videos” that show kids getting hurt in the process of doing these experiments. These can all lead to copycat videos where kids post their failures for others’ entertainment.

3. How To Make Fireworks

Fashioning your own fireworks is popular around Fourth of July. If your kids are curious about it, you can find instructions that include all of the necessary safety precautions—including not attempting without an adult present.

4. How To Vape

Not only can you learn how to use an e-cigarette, you can also learn how to do what’s called “vape tricks.” Sort of like blowing smoke rings, vape tricks are done to entertain friends.
Vaping videos and pictures of celebrities vaping make it look cool and fun, but it’s obviously an unhealthy habit. Remind your kid that e-cig companies give vapes to celebrities for free so that they can be photographed by the paparazzi.

5. How To Cheat

Cheating instructions take advantage of the internet’s anonymity. If no one can see you copying answers, using other’s work, or even downloading game cheats—who cares, right? Wrong. Because it’s so easy to do, it’s crucial to talk to your kids about behaving honesty and with integrity—even when no one can see you.

What You Can Do

Talk to your kids about your expectations for what they do online, including being safe and using common sense. Then, ask questions that prompt deeper thinking such as:
  • Is it ethical to teach people how to do risky activities online?
  • Do you think these lessons are accurate?
  • Who’s responsible if someone gets hurt from attempting online instructions? Only the injured party? The original poster? The website?
  • What would you do if a friend wanted to do something harmful?
  • What are the best conditions for conducting experiments?
  • Just because you can find certain information online, should you look for it?
